Kaybri Robinson Obituary, Tangipahoa Parish, LA Accident Death – In Loving Memory

A tragic single-vehicle crash in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, late Thursday night resulted in the death of a 6-month-old infant and injuries to two other passengers, according to Louisiana State Police.

Authorities say the crash occurred shortly before midnight on May 22, 2026, along US Highway 51 near LA Highway 1064. A 2013 Hyundai Elantra traveling northbound left the roadway for reasons still under investigation, entered a roadside ditch, and struck a concrete culvert.

Three people were inside the vehicle: the driver, 25-year-old Resjyne N. Griffin of Hammond, a 5-year-old child, and 6-month-old Kaybri Robinson, also of Hammond. Officials stated that neither the driver nor the children were properly restrained at the time of the crash.

The 5-year-old sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment, where they were reported to be in stable condition. The infant, Kaybri Robinson, suffered critical injuries and was also taken to a medical facility, but was later pronounced dead despite emergency efforts.

Investigators reported that the driver also sustained injuries consistent with not wearing a seat belt. During the preliminary investigation, authorities noted signs of possible impairment, and the driver now faces multiple serious charges, including vehicular homicide.

State police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the factors that caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. Officials have emphasized the importance of seat belt use and proper child restraints, noting the severity of the consequences in this incident.
